About Samuel Schrack, DO:

Dr. Schrack's military experience sparked the path to a healthcare career where he found his lifelong calling to practice medicine as a primary care doctor in rural communities. He served in the Pennsylvania Army and Air National Guard, and he is a Retired Major with the USAF Medical Corps, where he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal. 

“I enjoy everything about family medicine—all the different aspects of care and wellness—but what I find most rewarding are the patient relationships and successful outcomes,” Dr. Schrack shares.

His clinical background comprises both inpatient and outpatient care settings, including primary care, occupational health, emergency medicine, ambulatory care, and medical military service. He has also served as a clinical assistant professor at Lock Haven University and Hershey S. Medical Center’s College of Medicine, Chairman of Legal & Governmental Affairs for the Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physicians, and President of the Lycoming County Medical Society.

Across his storied career, Dr. Schrack has provided medical care at hospital facilities, clinical institutions, and outpatient practices in Lock Haven, Mill Hall, Williamsport, and Laporte, PA. He has delivered over 475 infants.

In his free time, he enjoys attending Penn State sports events, gardening, remodeling, music, and spending time with his family.


Education
:

After graduating from the US Army Medical Training Center as an honors graduate while training as a battlefield medic during the Vietnam era, he was employed as a licensed practical nurse in Lock Haven Hospital’s operating room. He continued advancing his medical education to become a physician assistant and then a family medicine physician.

Dr. Schrack earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology/Chemistry from Lock Haven University in Lock Haven, PA, his Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Hahnemann Medical College and Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, and his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from Des Moines University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa.
