Deb Dresser is a board-certified physician assistant (PA-C) who provides acute care to patients of all ages through our walk-in care program at the Wellsboro Laurel Health Center in Wellsboro, PA. She is passionate about rural medicine and building trusted relationships with her patients.
About Deb Dresser, PA-C:
Deb Dresser, PA-C, has experience providing care in a wide range of healthcare settings, including Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and rural health clinics.
“What I find most rewarding is building relationships with patients, putting them at ease, relating to them, and earning their trust,” she shares. “Not everyone can do that, and I know I don’t always get it right, but when I can make even a small difference in how they feel, that makes it all worth it.”
Her special appreciation for care in rural areas comes from having grown up in rural Pennsylvania herself.
“I’ve seen firsthand how much it means to a community to have access to reliable, quality healthcare,” she adds. “My family and I felt that need personally, and we always appreciated when there was a healthcare provider who truly cared. I like being able to fill that gap and give back in the same way.”
Prior to joining Laurel Health, Deb served as a Clinical Assistant Professor and Clinical Coordinator at St. Bonaventure University’s Physician Assistant Program. She also worked in family medicine at UPMC Cole in Port Allegany, PA, and First Choice Health Centers in Manchester, CT.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and getting her hands dirty with a fun DIY project.
Education:
Deb earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA, and her Master of Health Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Lock Haven University in Lock Haven, PA.
