Laurel Health is pleased to announce that Alison Hallinan, certified registered family nurse practitioner (FNP-C), has joined the Wellsboro Laurel Health Center, located at 7 Water St. in Wellsboro, PA. She is accepting new patients of all ages.

Alison Hallinan is board certified in family medicine and specializes in treating acute and chronic health conditions. She is passionate about helping her patients embrace preventive medicine and self-care to live healthier, happier lives. 

“What I find most rewarding about medicine is being able to help others—to ease their pain or fear and to work together on improving their health," she shares. "I enjoy sharing preventive care and lifestyle resources to help my patients support their health outside the clinic. I approach medicine holistically with a focus on what are often coined as the six pillars of health: nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress management, loving relationships, and avoiding risky substances like tobacco.”

Alison earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and her Master of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University in Illinois with a concentration on family medicine practice. She is also certified in plant-based nutrition and lifestyle medicine.

She began her medical career as a registered nurse and has prior experience treating patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings, including a background in intensive care where she treated critically ill patients.

“I’m grateful to be able to fulfill my professional calling close to home—I’ve lived in Wellsboro at various times throughout my life and am returning to this beautiful area to settle down with my fiancé.”

In her free time, she is busy planning for her upcoming wedding in June. She also enjoys walking and hiking with her dog, camping, traveling, biking during the warm-weather months, and spending time with friends.
