Dr. Barry Clark and Kate Abadi from Laurel Pediatrics Plan Retirement

By Kristy Warren

After nearly 40 years of dedicated service to local families, Dr. Barry Clark, MD, and Kate Abadi, PA-C, will be retiring later this year to enjoy more time with their own families. Kate will retire this August, and Dr. Clark will retire in December.

To make this as smooth and easy as possible, we have an internal transition plan in place and a team of Laurel Health providers standing ready to continue their legacy. We know parents take great consideration in choosing who cares for their children, so we messaged this retirement in advance to allow our pediatrics team time to connect with each family and discuss who else would be a good fit for their child’s care.

“Saying goodbye to practicing medicine has been a bittersweet decision, but it is made easier knowing we are leaving our patients in very capable hands with our excellent Laurel Health colleagues," the Laurel Pediatrics team shares. We are proud to have been of service, and this team has loved working with local families to help kids of all ages grow up healthy. Thank you for allowing us to care for your families for all of these years.”

Laurel Health is Here for You. Always.

The Laurel Pediatrics office at 1 B Main St. will close at the end of December 2024, but our health system will continue to provide comprehensive care for children and families at our Laurel Health Centers, Laurel Behavioral Health, and Laurel Dental offices. Patients will have the opportunity to transition within Wellsboro to a provider at the Wellsboro Laurel Health Center (570-724-1010) or another Laurel location of their choice.

If you’d like to schedule an appointment specifically to discuss your child’s care transition and available providers, we’d be happy to help at 570-724-7100

Laurel Health is incredibly grateful for the hard work of our Laurel Pediatrics team over the decades. Thank you for your outstanding commitment to pediatric patients and helping children develop a life-long interest in their own health and wellness. We welcome everyone to join us in wishing Dr. Clark and Kate a wonderful next chapter and a hearty congratulations on their well-deserved retirement!
