Supporting Children's Dental Health
By Kristy Warren
The room was all smiles as Laurel Health's Laura Brannaka, registered dental hygienist, stopped by to teach the kids at Penny's Daycare Center about the importance of dental health and how to care for their teeth. The classes got a firsthand look at the special tools used to keep their teeth healthy and learned what to expect during a visit to the dentist. Thank you so much for having us!
Laurel Health offers comprehensive dental services to patients of all ages, including treatments tailored for toddlers and young children like fluoride varnish. This varnish is designed to protect enamel and help prevent tooth decay. In addition to our dental experts, Laurel Health’s primary care providers are also professionally trained to apply fluoride varnish in the office to make scheduling treatment even easier, as we understand very young children often do not visit a dentist until they are older.

Did you know healthy teeth and gums play an important role in our overall health? The state of our smile can actually affect other aspects of our health and well-being, from our physical health to our emotional health and self-esteem! Unfortunately, many families forgo routine dental care due to lack of access or out of pocket costs. Laurel Health is fighting to change that. We are committed to making dental services more accessible for families throughout rural northcentral Pennsylvania.
Laurel Health has introduced a mobile dental program to help meet patients where they are and has expanded our dental services throughout Bradford and Tioga Counties with plans to extend care into Sullivan County in the coming months.
