By Kristy Warren

Laurel Health is pleased to announce that licensed professional counselor Jessica Prutsman, has joined our Laurel Behavioral Health team. She will be focused on treating adolescent patients through Laurel’s school-based behavioral health program in Tioga County, PA.

Jessica Prutsman, LPC has in-depth experience working with children and young adults to tackle a wide range of mental and behavioral health conditions, including grief, stress, anxiety, and depression. She provides personalized counseling and is particularly passionate about helping patients struggling with anxiety or depression.

“I struggled with my own mental health as a teen, and through therapy, I was able to see my own strength. I became a licensed professional counselor because I wanted to be that light for someone else,” she shares.

When it comes to patient well-being, Jessica emphasizes the importance of caring for our mental health and building resilience to weather challenges. “Life can be extremely difficult, especially when it comes to things that are out of our control. Taking the time to ask ourselves tough questions helps us process and learn to cope in a healthy way, which allows us to live better lives and pursue our goals and dreams," she continues. "I love seeing my patients’ confidence grow as they find what works for them. I strongly believe in accountability, boundary setting, and finding a life balance that works for you.”

I grew up in the area, so practicing with Laurel Behavioral Health allows me to come back to my roots, and I’m eager to help improve access to these important services for those in need.”

Jessica earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Indiana University in Pennsylvania.

In her free time, she enjoys game nights, movies, new experiences, reading, and spending time with her friends, family, and dog Max.
