Tanika Cushing, certified physician assistant (PA-C), has joined the Laurel Health team and is accepting new patients of all ages at the Elkland Laurel Health Center, located at 103 Forestview Drive in Elkland, PA. She has a wealth of experience in both inpatient and outpatient care settings with a background in primary care, urgent care, and internal medicine.

She and her family recently relocated back to the area after working in Virginia. “I am from a rural area, and it is important to me to serve others locally to meet their needs and provide access to medical care close to home,” she shares.

Tanika Cushing is board certified in family medicine, and she is passionate about helping her patients improve their health and wellness.

Tanika received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Environmental Science from Davis and Elkins College in West Virginia and her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from West Liberty University in West Virginia. Prior to joining Laurel Health, she worked with Augusta Health and Bradford Family Medicine.

“I really enjoy working in primary care,” she adds, “There is such a wide range of conditions that we treat, and I especially enjoy having the continuity of care with my patients. It is a special bond.”

In her free time, she enjoys baking, being outdoors, and spending time with her husband and two children camping and traveling.

Tanika Cushing, PA-C, is accepting new patients of all ages at the Elkland Laurel Health Center, Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. The center provides family medicine, mental and behavioral health, preventive wellness screenings, acute care, nutrition and diabetes counseling, immunizations, chiropractic care, and specialty services like women's health and gerontology (healthcare focused on healthy aging and older adults with chronic conditions).
