Deb Dresser, PA-C, Joins the Wellsboro Laurel Health Center

By Kristy Warren

Deb Dresser, board-certified physician assistant (PA-C), has joined the Wellsboro Laurel Health Center, located at 7 Water St. in Wellsboro, PA. She sees patients of all ages with a focus on treating acute conditions through Laurel Health’s walk-in care program.

She has experience providing care in a wide range of healthcare settings, including Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and rural health clinics. Her special appreciation for care in rural areas comes from having grown up in rural Pennsylvania herself.

“I’ve seen firsthand how much it means to a community to have access to reliable, quality healthcare,” Deb adds. “My family and I felt that need personally, and we always appreciated when there was a healthcare provider who truly cared. I like being able to fill that gap and give back in the same way."

Deb shares the following quote about what she enjoys most about healthcare: “What I find most rewarding is building relationships with patients, putting them at ease, relating to them, and earning their trust. When I can make even a small difference in how they feel, that makes it all worth it.” To learn more about Wellsboro’s weekday walk-in care program, call 570-724-1010.

Dresser earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA, and her Master of Health Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Lock Haven University in Lock Haven, PA.

“What I find most rewarding is building relationships with patients, putting them at ease, relating to them, and earning their trust,” she shares. “Not everyone can do that, and I know I don’t always get it right, but when I can make even a small difference in how they feel, that makes it all worth it.”

Prior to joining Laurel Health, Dresser served as a Clinical Assistant Professor and Clinical Coordinator at St. Bonaventure University’s Physician Assistant Program. She also worked in family medicine at UPMC Cole in Port Allegany, PA, and First Choice Health Centers in Manchester, CT.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and getting her hands dirty with a fun DIY project.
